Daniel D. Dwyer

I was born and raised in Hartford County, Connecticut. I attended Williams College, a small school in Massachusetts, and graduated with B.A. in English. After coaching football for a few years, I attended law school at night at Quinnipiac College School of Law, graduating magna cum laude. From 1998 until recently, I practiced law in the State of Connecticut with my father and two other partners. The year 2016 meant delivery of our oldest son to college and a move to beautiful Huntsville. We love it here in Alabama.

For the past decade, the majority of my caseload has involved domestic relations litigation and criminal defense. Fortunately, my practice also involves less acrimonious matters such as residential real estate and probate issues. Here at Hodges Trial Lawyers, I continue with a steady stream of divorce and custody matters along with criminal defense and pending probate files in Madison and Limestone Counties.

An old coach and professor at my alma mater used to say “This place was founded and built by geniuses so it can be run by idiots.” At times, one could say the same thing about our country. The U.S. Constitution is an amazing document crafted by brilliant men. One of our more important Constitutional rights as Americans is the opportunity to seek redress before a jury of our peers. Unfortunately, centuries of bureaucrats have attempted to dilute that right. Like the firm founder and principal, Jeremiah Hodges, I am also a big believer in the jury system and I truly enjoy working with Jeremiah and Attorney McFalls on the firm’s many personal injury and wrongful death matters pending throughout Alabama and Tennessee.

Outside of work, my focus is on family and sports. My wife, Stephanie, and I have three happy and healthy sons. Our oldest attends the US Naval Academy in Annapolis and the younger two attend The Randolph School here in Huntsville. I have been very fortunate to be able to coach all three in various sports over the last twelve years, most recently football and baseball at The Randolph School.
